Defeating Anger |
 |
 |
The hostility factor is a major determinant of whether or not stress is destructive or constructive. Learning to manage anger can clear the mind, unleash potential and diminish obstruction of negative and hostile thoughts. Individuals will gain a sense of empowerment in learning skills on how to let go of anger. This allows the individual to change from a victim orientation to one of empowerment. Anger can lead to serious health consequences. Studies have shown that the hostility factor greatly contributes to major health problems such as heart attacks, cancer, neurological impairment, and accidents. Letting go of anger, resentments and learning to forgive can unleash the power of positive and optimistic thought. Uncluttered, unfettered thinking promotes positive attitudes and high morale, enhancing ability to work cohesively in a team. As Buddha so aptly put, "You will not be punished for your anger. You will be punished by your anger." |
