Whether it is through on-site individual or group intervention, phone consultation, or workshop facilitation, my passion is to help the individual and organization become more "mentally fit."
I put my background in Clinical Psychology to work in addressing, identifying and handling mental health disorders on the job, such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. Helping Managers recognize and handle mental health issues increases their managerial sensitivity and subsequent effectiveness. Mental illness at work is by far most common than is realized, and is often undetected! Consider these Statistics - 22 percent of American Adults suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year (National Institute of Mental Health - NIMH) .
In addition, four of the leading causes of disability in the U.S. are due to mental disorders. I have also identified more general Life Skills and Mental Health issues in my counseling with individuals, couples and families, and I seek to apply the lessons of my insight - oriented therapy to improving relationships and mental health in the workplace. Even coaching individuals with personal problems, such as going through marital problems or divorce, can provide great advantages to the employer in order to prevent these life changing issues from negatively impacting the workplace environment.
Life Skills Training is not a part of formal education, but immensely helpful to reach peak performance and work effectiveness. Worksite Insights provides many forums to enlighten, facilitate, and offer help in an interactive, personable manner. My counseling background helps me understand the profound impact of negative stressors on the individual and the organization, and I apply these insights to providing solutions. |
